At first, I didn't see much in it. I saw a Sci-fi but after Lan went to see it, I saw that it was much more. The movie Avatar is a great likeness to how my kind live. The story told is one of bravery and courage which is typical I guess, for this kind of movie, but it's still good. It reminds me quite a bit how my race lived "astrally" before Lan came along and changed things in the village. We're starting to get back to that and I think Lan's liking the change back better than what he created. It's still an awesome movie. The music fits. The dialog is a little clunky but other than that it fits as well. The visuals were stunning. Lan liked it and I can see why. Yes, there is a lot of action and things exploding but if you dig beyond that, it's still a good story, if even in a couple places, overly dramatic. When you see the Na'vi, you will think "Feline" right off, but it could easily be Vulpine. GO SEE IT NAU!!!!!!!
Also, I set up a new color scheme for all to use. Please feel free to. You'll find it under the list name "Ashira's Forest" hehe

I got home about an hour ago after watching the Avatar. Here in Korea, everything is in Korean subtitles...even foreign languages are in Korean subs and not translated to English, so most of the movie remaind a mystery to me because I couldn't understand what was being said or be fully engaged in a conflict due to the native tongue of the Avatars.
Other than that, I will go see it again...in a theater that will have no subs.
I truly loved it. The message is very clear.
Go take the time to see it.

I haven't seen it yet, but will when it comes out on DVD if not before. The trailers look cool, and I am sure it will be great. I appreciate your reviews, and the idea that it is like Ash's world makes me look forward to seeing it.
I really love Ashira's forest... which reminds me. I want to re-work that header... LOL I was planning to do that shortly after we got the site up, but I haven't yet... and it's been what? five years? Anyway great work Ash!

Kim For me, the greatest thing about this movie is that it came to the director/producer in a dream. He'd dreamt it all and waited until the mundane world was technologically advanced enough for him to share it.

The way the Na'vi live is very much like how Ash's clan does. The whole movie is very well put together. The basic story is quite generic though. The details are what make the movie amazing. Ash's Tyrea could EASILY be Pandora. Cameron saw the world in the movie in his dreams which could have easily been a projection into Tyrea. It's a GREAT movie all in all. I have the soundtrack. Good music also. I would love to live in the world of that movie. Not Earth though.... most certainly not Earth.

I saw the movie today in 3D. And it was stunning. Like, some parts literally took my breath away. I enjoyed it quite a lot.
