I made contact with another dancer; she lives in Seattle; her work is beautiful. A much older woman, beautiful dancer; would love to meet her someday soon. We are communicating.
I made contact with another dancer; she just moved to Gimcheon; she's been dancing for 21 years [she's one year older than me], but only been Bellydancing for one year. As she and I spoke, I felt this cool sensation throughout my body and knew there was a reason for she and I to meet. And as I thought this, she said to me ' Look I am getting goosebumps, so there is a reason why we are talking now, why we met'.
How she and I met:I was walking home after finally finishing my errands when she said to me 'Excuse me, are you Raquel?' Out of the blue, there she was at the bus stop, and there are not many english speaking people where I am and I thought it REALLY weird for a stranger to call me out of no where.
And to think, all of the detours I had to take, in the end, led me to our meeting. I nearly went straight home three times before being directed to finish another errand.
Two dancers in one night, continents apart...now that's synchronicity at its best.
Well, well, that river is looking pretty good, I must say...

Sounds like you are on the right path, things are like that when you are on the path... you can always tell, cause things like that happen. Hang on to that.
Also YAY you have an english speaking friend in Korea. Make the most of that friendship!!!

Very much so someone to be a friend than an acquaintance - that I can ACTUALLY talk to about things that won't confuse most people...of course I need to tread carefully, and like Kata says 'wait for it...'

So, call me out for being not so nice and posting people's stuff on the i-net. But I received this message on FB [but if i's on FB it's everywhere] from the dancer I mentioned above, the newly arrived English teacher. She and I haven't really been in contact since...maybe three or four weeks after we met. Differences, I suppose, and her integrating into the new environment, doing stuff I didn't want to do or have interest in. That's 'normal' I guess. So, here's the lovely message she posted for me: I'll be graduating sooner than I thought I was [March 2010 instad of July] so I have to be more focused on this dance-movement stuff, which means my final project has to begin coming together in a pretty cohesive presentation of sorts. Any extra time I take will be contributed to the final sha-bang. I of course did tell her that... But what I wanted to say in response was 'It's about time missy...'

I think it is great that she wants to colaborate with you. I am GLAD also that it was not a snap decision on her part. She considered it first, and that means she didn't take the decision lightly. That is really a good thing. People who just jump on the band wagon impulsively are often just as quick to jump off. At any rate best of luck with your colaborated efforts.
Also that is great news that you will graduate soon. March is not that far away at all. Have you considered that with your Masters, you could perhaps get a fellowship with a college and persue your doctorate? It's possible that you could apply for one. Perhaps you could study abroad, like in Europe. Or possibly your colaboration with your friend will continue for some time. At any rate congrats! All this sounds like great news.
OH.. and I know you have told me this before, but what is the name of your school... the one you are graduating from, and maybe a URL? I forgot. My memory is not good sometimes.

And I have had that happen to me recently - a dancer said yes and then I never heard from her again in regards to the collaboration. It is great news and news that will have me drowning in work. Reallly, no social time for me after this month. No Problem. www.itp.edu

That's been my experience with people who just agree to go along really quickly without knowing all the facts, and honestly the sometimes when I have just JUMPED into something without thinking about it carefully, I wasn't any better. Easy come and easy go... I can imagine, and remember, of course I am old enough now to think of those cramming sessions, as the good old days. Cool... but they only take you if you start with a bachelors... and I am finding a lot of that. Plenty of ways to get your associates, and plenty of ways to get your masters, but getting a bachelors is... well... expensive and time consuming. LOL I really should get my associates, but I'd have to start over, even though I was almost finished... that was a LONG time ago, and my credits are lost, and would be outdated even so.
