I don't know where to put this, this board is the right place but maybe not this category...
When an entity is tryig to speak with me, my ears get hyper sensitive and if I focus enough I Hear the whipsering. Now, there are times where that sound is carried on the sound waves of other things.
For an example: when the air conditioner is on, I hear the sound of the a/c but if I listen hard enough I hear talking. When I try to ignore it and pass it off as it just being the a/c, it sticks and I just go on hearing a lot of stuff.
It doesn't necessarily need to be the a/, it could be running water, listening to the rain, the wind even.
Why is it that I can hear them better with certain sounds rather than silence? I can hear them in silence too but it takes more work.

they probably have an easier time combining the sound of their voices with an existing sound, than speaking out of silence.

Have you ever heard of the white noise phenomonon? There was a movie about it, but it was played up Hollywood style, just like all the other horror movies which document PSI phenomonon into something really creepy. It doesn't have to be creepy though... it is just more fun to make a scarry movie. The sites about this movie do have some real research on them though, that you might want to check out. www.apple.com/trailers/universal/white_noise/Basically the white noise phenomonon is interesting because in some cases it has actually been recorded. They use radio and TV static. They record it and then adjust the sound until their is a clearly audible voice. The supposition is that it is ghosts. Anyway this is the one psychic phenomonon which has a lot of 'proof'. Of course there are always skeptics, but this one is more difficult than most to disprove. I didn't like the way this was handled in the movie, because it turned it into something dangerous, where as most things like that are harmless or at worst maybe harmful to the psyche, but no, ghosts don't come and beat you to death, with your own listening equipment and such! If such beings were prone to physical violence, people wouldn't be sitting around debating if they exist or not. The astral is subtle, and the movie people have to take some barely perceptable phenomonon, and make a visual drama out of it... still the research they did for the movie is very interesting. I've got one white noise site above, but you might want to do a google search.

Yeah I saw the movie and I even questioned why they showed such a negative aspect of it. There are things ome people shouldn't dabble in but I don't think it was that serious the way they portrayed it.
