So, as cheesy as it is, I recently started applying significant movie quotes to practice in daily life. One rather good one I came across was the New World Army slogan, from the Men Who Stare at Goats. When applied through my beliefs on contact and healing through Mother Earth, I can see this becoming a very practical life mantra.
the slogan:
"Mother Earth, you're my life support system. As your soldier... I must drink your blue water, live inside your red clay, and eat your green skin. Help me to balance myself. As you hold in balance, the Earth, the sea, and the space environments. Help me to open my heart... knowing that the Universe will feed me... I pray my boots will always kiss your face... and my footsteps match your heartbeat. Carry my body through space and time. You're my connection to the Universe and all that comes after. I am yours and you are mine. I salute you."
I am in no way a soldier of any nation, but after memorizing this, the term "soldier" takes on new meaning to me. I will strive to continue life as a defender of this rock that we are all connected on, respect the planet and she will respect you. Defend the planet, and she will protect you. All are equaled in the graces of Mother Earth, and all differ beyond comprehension. Through our similarities and differences, we daily are fueled by the immense power of this planet as one being. Our auras can fluctuate with the smallest wisp of the wind and change of the tide, as do our emotions. Can something so radically impacting go unnoticed and disrespected as often as it truly does?
I would like to know if anyone else has any other good media quotes or mantras that they've been influenced by in the past few years, and if anyone has learned any practical tactics for connecting better with Mother Earth.
I just joined yesterday, so I apologize for the n00bitude, first thread here. Thanks for your patience, just tryin to get opinions [:
