This looks like a really great book. I read some kind of in the middle cause I was researching Berman temple cats.
This looks just like Link
This summer my mom's mixed breed long haired cat had a litter of kittens The mom and all the kittens except one were black or black and white tuxedo cats, but one little tom had siamese like markings. He didn't look that much like a simamese though. He has white paws, and his tail is bushy. His coat is of an unusual texture, unlike any cat we've had. It is neither siamese or persian. It is longer than a simese and softer but not as silky, but it is nothing like persian fur. Even though He was raised ferral, he was never afraid of us at all. His siblings were all fairly wild, even though we tried to befriend them. He never ran from us even once. Mom's cats are just strays, which she feeds even thogh they are terrified of us. After establishing that mom didn't want a housecat I took little LINK home with me to be a housecat.
I didn't know what to make of his coat pattern, or his disposition, till I found a breed of cat who looks just like him. The Burman, so anyway I was reasearhing that, and found that Burman's even more than siamese were temple cats, so I wanted to know more, so I found this book. It looks great. I hope you enjoy..
Oh and by the way according to the articles I found, I have some kind of sacred temple cat. He is the spitting image of registered Birman cats. He even has the sacred markings on his back that few of his breed have. According to these articles some Birmans have a faint sooty "handprint" mark on their lower neck/upper back. Link has this, and in ancient times it was considered like the hand of god mark. Very rare and special. Among the original Temple cats, he would have been highly valued.
Don't ask me how he was born to a black and white persian mix... I have been tying to figure that out, but those points are a recessive trait... usually. According to ledgend the original sacred points, appeared on the temple cats after the death of a Kitta priest. His cat touched him and changed colors, even his eyes which turned blue. Then a week later, all the other cats changed colors... My kitty was born this way, but why? Genetically it makes no sense, but he is so pretty. I guess he is just a little miracle. ;D
