i got to thinking one night... about how people and their chakras work...
i started thinking that maybe the fetus is actually a highly aware individual, and is focusing all their energy into life, creation, so that they may grow, and they manage to get such an abundance of energy that it would last them a long while, so long as their physical body were sustained (basically energy till you die).
and then, when the child is born, they lose all memories, their focused concentration is absolutely shattered, and so begins a brand new life...
so im thinking... maybe the fetal position may be an emergy charging position?

You make a good point. I think you could be right. There was actually a movie about babies which showed the children loosing awareness, psychic skills, and past life memories around the age of two, or three. I can't remember the name of it now, but it was like the small children were brilliant magical geniuses full of wisdom and insight, but one day they suddenly lost it.
The fetal position is very comforting, and I think it is meant to enhance shielding, and it probably does a lot of other things too.

i think i've got it.
it's a circle.
your root chakra is affected most by your thoughts, your crown chakra.
your spleen is affected most by your root. if the solar plexus is truly an important gate, your solar plexus is affected by your spleen, otherwise its your heart that is, which would be affected by the solar plexus if it's a gate... then your thyroid is affected by your heart, your third eye is affected by your thyroid, and your crown is affected by the third eye.
the fetal position turns your energy into a spinning circle that generates more energy the more it flows in the fetal circle.

That makes sense. I also like what you say about the heart being a gate. I know that describes mine pretty well. I like the fetal position circuit pretty well.
Thanks for explaining that. I am pretty sure you are right. I suspect you could strengthen the effect by focusing on each chakra in turn.
I have done exercises like that before that focus on sensation first in the throat, then following through then inside of the mouth to the upper lip and slowly over the face to the third eye. Opening the third eye and sensating it, along with your physical eyes, then slowly moving this sense of awareness up to the crown, slowly down the spine, noticing the energy traveling down the back. Well you get the idea, it makes a circuit, and comes back up to the throat. Then you repeat.
We could try that while in the fetal position and making a circuit that way. I think it would enhance energy.

also i suspeect the legs to be an extension of the root... like roots. it is a logical conclusion based on the symbolic representation of roots so when i nthe fetal position, the knees would connect to the crown...

That is one damn good theory, my good sir and madame. I personally don't know much about chakras...accept for the fact that I'm pretty sure my third eye chakra isn't very active, or probably is underactive...as most of my others prob. are.

speaking of third eye, the oddest thing happened when i wa strying to meditate and open that chakra the other night...
my body semi-voulentarily 'twitched' in an awrkward position and tried to hold it there...
it wasnt conscious, but at the same time, i could feel that i was the one doing it :S
what the hell happened?
