I won't say the employers, but it is a general retail job. I think it's good to learn, since this would be my first time on a register, and I will need to know these things for jobs to come.
My first job was in retail also. I used to call my job title a "can I help you lady," cause that's what we'd always ask. Now days it doesn't seem like store clerks do that, but in the old days we'd greet customers and say, "can I help you find something." Now you have to hunt them down, cause the stores don't hire as many per area as they used to. I was in the store I used to work at a couple of weeks ago... well it's in another location, because they moved to the mall from downtown, but it's basically the same store. No one asked if they could help me. They are nice, but seem to take a sort of laid back attitude. LOL Personally I like it better, since I know my way around, and would see through the sales techniques I used to use, but no one tries to sell anything these days, they just wait for you to buy. It is a very strange change in policy.
Anyway it is important to work a job like that where you meet and greet the public. You learn how to persuade, and how to suggest... or at least we used to... not sure what they do now, but it's still a good thing to learn about time clocks, and getting to work on time, and dressing appropriately, and speaking appropriately. It's very good to know that stuff before you try to get a real job after college.
Right now I've been busy between my job, school, the animals, and my art. Plus my goals and my faith, so I haven't posted much. I am glad I can once again trust my dreams to guide me.
Well it is good to hear from you, and happy that you are trusting in guidance and faith. It's good to hear that you are busy too. I've been like a cat chasing it's tail, but hopefully it will pay off... even though my approach lacks organization.
