Two serious car accidents this week involving fog... massive 70 and 100 car pile ups in Madison Wisconsin, and another in Florida. They both involved huge areas of dense fog. I've noticed illusional fog around here, and have assoicated these things with car accidents. I've never heard of accidents like the ones in FL and Wisconson, and was wondering if you thought these things were normal or not? I mean are they natural or supernatural, or a mix of both.

MADISON - Two people were killed in a pileup on I-90 near Highway 12 Sunday, as dense walls of fog lowered visibility. Authorities say another three people received life-threatening injuries in the crashes, and up to 35 more were transported to area hospitals. The Wisconsin State Patrol says two nearly simultaneous crashes on either side of Hwy 12 created a domino effect, which led to many smaller crashes. “One of my sergeants described it as a war scene," said Lt. Lauri Steever of the State Patrol. Authorities described victims on the highway, some near their vehicles and others not. “It was very overwhelming at first," said Asst. Chief Jay Salvo of the Blooming Grove Fire Department, one of the firs to arrive. "And it’s difficult because of the multitude of amount of vehicles stopped.” Salvo described the fog as dense enough to make rescue efforts dangerous. “The ambulance pulled about 150 feet in front of us, with lights flashing, all their emergency lights on, disappeared in the fog." Authorities shut down I-90 in both directions at Hwy 12 and diverted traffic. Red brake lights stretched for miles on area highways. The State Patrol says the investigation and clearing of the interstate will take the night.

LAKELAND, Fla. - About 70 vehicles crashed on an interstate blanketed by fog and smoke from a brush fire early Wednesday, killing four people, authorities said.
Crashes and a pileup shutdown nearly 15 miles of Interstate 4 between Tampa and Orlando. Aerial footage in the morning showed the soupy mix of fog and smoke covering the landscape for miles and giving the sky an eerie golden color.
The poor visibility forced rescuers to walk along the closed interstate checking individual vehicles for injured motorists, said Larry Coggins, a trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol. The conditions cleared in late morning, showing mangled, charred trucks and cars pinned underneath some tractor-trailers.
