I always thought, we were here to learn and become better people. Kind of like training for being of higher like a test. Though here lately I am not sure if I am still in that standing.
Now I am starting to think that perhaps we are meant to seek and find ourselves as well as others. To learn how to relate so that we may find a greater plane. And of course help others that have fallen from this path. But then again I am still not sure about all of this. Sadly this topic has taken a back burner for me. And I have not given it a lot of thought over the past few months.
What do you think is the reason and/or goal?

I've heard, a lot of theories over the years, and bought into a lot of them at different times. I don't know which one I believe now exactly, but here's a list of the ones I have considered. Some are my own, and some come from other people, and other traditions.
1. We were created to love and worship God.
2. We are here to learn, become enlightened, and evolve beyond the need to incarnate.
3. We are really spirits, unfairly imprisoned in tunic's of flesh which obscure our true nature.
4. God is a great cosmic scientist, and I am a big white lab rat.
5. Maybe we are like house pets to God. I am God's dog and I just poohed on the rug again, so he made me go out (incarnate.)
6. We are here to weave the tapestry of life. Our combined energies balance each other, and create an elaborate pattern of activity, emotion, and beauty. Each of us is a thread in the tapestry, and while taken seperately our lives seem random, we are truely part of a great pattern, which must be followed exactly.
7. We are incarnated because others are trapped in Samsari, and we must help free them.
8. We are here as a test.
9. We are here for our own amusement, and the amusement of others. Life is hilarious once you stop taking it so seriously. It is a practical joke on all of us, and we might as well laugh.
10. We are the intertainment of the gods. They watch us and smile, laugh, cry and feel our emotions, in the same way we watch TV.
11. We are here as a model. The Gods have a problem, so they created a working model, gave it free will, and are waiting to see if anyone can solve it. If we can solve the problems in our own lives, then our solutions can be adapted and used to fix the bigger problems of the Universe. In other words we are an unwitting think tank for the problems of the universe.
12. Humanity is a patch in the divine universe created to replace the fallen angels, which withdrew from the senerio.
13. God has a nature that requires him to create. He created us, and enjoys our beauty and complexity. He loves us as his own, and wants to see us grow. We are part of his complex creation, and so he takes pride in our accomplishments, and tries to encourage us, and keep us on the right path.
14. There are differing and at times opposing forces in the nature of God, which are expressed as Aeons. Aeons are eminations of god, and we are iminations of those Aeons. We form a balance in the world, and our conflicts keep things from getting two one sided.
15. We are here to learn to love others for the right reasons, and in the right ways. The entire universe runs on Agape (unconditional brotherly love) and once we learn to do that we not only improve the overall condition of the world, we also help others learn to do this. The energy of love is what fuels the energy of the divine universe.
Some of these are obviously true, and others are obviously kind of silly, but I think the truth is a mixture of these, and a few others that haven't been given to us yet.

lol most of those were actually true, if not at least a part of the picture.
frankly, there's no POINT, however, there are goals we can set for ourselves, and while i cant say for sure what the greater spirits who are in controll have set their goals up to be, but one things for sure, there's no point.
we are evolution of the one demensional thing that accounts for everything; thoughts. god is a highly evolved collection of thought, and we are created to be gods ourselves, through evolution of mind, and body. but as you can see, we're not living up to that goal.
and even if we did, it's just an eternal spiral, once we attain godliness, what are we to do but try to do the same thing god had done in creating us.
we move on to our own semi-private universes and go from scratch.

to elaborate on what i said...
"god" is not an individual being, rather the collective whole of every individual, and thus god gave us all free will... and our physical creators think they have controll over our destinies, but they do not. however, they've managed to manipulate our physical lives enough to prevent us from growing.
"they" is mostly refering to the demurge and followers.
and still, there may be no point or purpose to this growth, but it sure beats being a puppet pawn to some disrespectful being.

Purpose of life: 1. Physically: To grow, reproduce (keep our DNA on this earth), and to die. 2. Debatable: Each person retains their own purpose, whether it was as a vacation, some type of research, curiosity, or otherwise it is usually something a predecided by that person before incarnating. An exception to this is a newly created soul. 3. Mine: So far I think mine is to teach, learn more about the motivation behind actions, and to perhaps to keep an eye on things (like I know what). 4. Debatable #2: Karma has been set and whether or not the soul has a choice it was go through a life and make more decision. Comparable to chess. ;D 5. Debatable #3: Deity of said soul made the choice for said soul and now said soul must go through life with or without the knowledge of why (in other words a mission or punishment lol). All of this going on whether or not you believe in the concept of a soul and the amount of credit and power you put in gods/the divine.

sigh it seems to me that bordom plays a BIG role in what happens to us, or what we decide to do, especialy if we are to take on the role of gods... kind of a reach the pinical of everything and then what??
tho i have heard a theory the the whole purpose of life is to experiance death, which would explain why we are almost indoctrinated to fear death and to resist death, but thats jus a theory,
you know if we take into consideration of the thought influencing factor then any purpose or after life would be entirely up to you with no pre-ordained set thing that will happen.
i want to start a study group, anyone is welcome to ask about it, but plz take into consideration that im very serious about this, any topics the group may ask you to reasearch (with your consent of course) i expect you to literally study it over a period of a month minimum, including practises and exersises that may be included. some very powerful and potencially dangerous topics will be reaserched, so plz think about it, it will require time and dedication, strictly no lazyness. all in all i want 8 people myself included. if you are interested plz pm me, included your interests and fields of studies.

A study group sounds interesting, depending on what you want to study... I could probably help out. What will be the main focus of your study?

it would be a study of almost every topic, the reaserched topics will be assigned acorrding to the person. the main focus however il have to explain, and il only do that with the formed group. it is very important that we are 8 people in total. but im actually very serious about this, we have a very large magical community, but unfortunatly also a lack of serious practitioners, i wanna change that. if you have people in mind who might be interested plz ask them.
